Roughecks sign Smith to two-year contract
The Roughnecks have signed defenceman Jerrett Smith to a two-year contract. Smith (6-foot-3, 210 lbs., 08/18/1995) signed as an Undrafted Free Agent in 2022 with the Saskatchewan Rush where he spent four seasons with the club. In 57 games played, Smith posted 37 points (8G, 29A) to go along with 199 loose balls and 27 caused turnovers.

Roughecks sign Pusch to one-year deal
The Roughnecks have signed defenceman Ronin Pusch to a one-year contract. Pusch (6-foot, 185 lbs., 04/11/2002) is fresh off winning the Presidents Cup with many members of the Roughnecks while playing with the Edmonton Miners this past summer. The lefty-defender was a second round pick (30th overall) to the now ceased Panther City Lacrosse Club in the 2022 NLL Entry Draft.

Roughecks sign Macdonald to three-year contract
The Roughnecks have signed defenceman Denton Macdonald to a three-year contract. Macdonald, (5-foot-10, 185 lbs., 06/11/2001) was drafted 20th overall in the 2024 NLL Draft to the Saskatchewan Rush. Macdonald has yet to suit up in his first NLL season and will be part of Riggers Training Camp.
September 21
Roughecks sign three players to two-year contracts
The Roughnecks have signed defenceman Ben Kromer, Nicholas Volkov and Cole Begley to two-year contracts. All three defenders were acquired during the 2026 NLL Dispersal Draft on September 15th. Kromer (6-foot-4, 205 lbs.) was first off the board for Calgary, the long lefty d-man was a third round (40th overall) pick by the Philadelphia Wings in 2025. Volkov (6-foot-2, 235 lbs.) is suiting up in his fourth NLL season and was a first round pick (14th overall) by Albany in the 2023 Draft. Begley (6-foot-1, 180 lbs.) was the third and final pick for the Riggers. The Ontario native has played one NLL game and was a fourth round pick (55th overall) by the Ottawa Black Bears in 2025.
August 24
Roughecks sign Dunbar to one-year contract
The Roughnecks have signed forward Jacob Dunbar to a one-year contract. Dunbar, (5-foot-8, 180 lbs., 01/17/2001) was acquired in a trade in February of last season from the Ottawa Black Bears. In five games played with the Riggers, Dunbar has posted three points (2G, 1A).
August 11
Roughecks sign Matsuoka to three-year contract
The Roughnecks have signed defenceman Harrison Matsuoka to a three-year contract.Matsuoka, (6-foot, 180 lbs., 08/20/1998) the hometown kid, is back for his sixth season with the Riggers. The reliable transition defender collected 14 points (2G, 12A), 70 loose balls and seven caused turnovers in 18 games played last season.
August 4
Roughecks sign Cook to two-year contract
The Roughnecks have signed defenceman Carter Cook to a two-year contract. Cook (6-foot, 175 lbs., 05/15/2004) was the Riggers fourth round selection in the 2024 NLL Draft. In seven games played last season, the rookie posted three points (1G, 2A).
July 23
Roughecks sign Gautier to two-year deal
The Roughnecks have signed forward Mathieu Gautier to a two-year contract. Gautier (6-foot, 205 1lbs., 10/06/2002) is coming back to the Riggers for his third season with the team. In 13 games played last season, the forward posted 10 points (1G, 9A).
June 25
Roughecks sign two players to three-year contracts
The Roughnecks signed goaltender Colby Bowman and defenceman Jack Follows to three-year contracts. Bowman (6-foot, 215 lbs., 5/28/2002) was our pick in the third round (33rd overall) of the 2024 NLL Entry Draft. The Nanaimo, BC product was a brick wall who seen game action five times last season , posting a .923 SV% and a 4.12 GAA. Follows (5-foot-11, 188 lbs., 8/28/2001) is heading into his third season with the Riggers. In 18 games played last season, Follows put up four assists to go along with 50 loose balls and 15 blocked shots.
