The Calgary Roughnecks selected three players in the NLL Dispersal Draft that was held virtually on Tuesday afternoon.
The Riggers started the day with the 4th overall pick in the Dispersal Draft. That pick was later traded to the Georgia Swarm in exchange for the 7th overall pick in the 2026 NLL Entry Draft. Calgary now holds the 7th, 10th, and 14th overall selections for a total of three first-round draft picks for next week’s 2026 NLL Entry Draft.

The available player pool consisted of the Philadelphia and Ottawa rosters after both franchises officially discontinued operations. Clubs selected in reverse order based on their regular-season winning percentages over the two most recently completed seasons, with the latest season being weighted at 70 percent.
The Riggers selected three defencemen and added some size in the draft apart from acquiring a pick in the 2026 Entry Draft. Ben Kromer (6-foot-4, 205 lbs.) was first off the board for Calgary, the long lefty d-man was a third round (40th overall) pick by the Philadelphia Wings in 2025. Nicholas Volkov (6-foot-2, 235 lbs.) is suiting up in his fourth NLL season and was a first round pick (14th overall) by Albany in the 2023 Draft. Cole Begley (6-foot-1, 180 lbs.) was the third and final pick for the Riggers. The Ontario native has played one NLL game and was a fourth round pick (55th overall) by the Ottawa Black Bears in 2025.

Round 2, Pick 16 – Ben Kromer, D
Round 3, Pick 28 – Nicholas Volkov, D
Round 4, Pick 40 – Cole Begley, D
The Roughnecks will now shift their focus to NLL Free Agency which will open at 3:00 p.m. MT on September 18th, before the 2026 NLL Entry Draft taking place on September 24 at 4:00 p.m. MT.
